These positions are located in the High Desert District with a duty station of Rock Springs, WY. The High Desert District Office is co-located with the Rock Springs Field Office and encompasses the Rock Springs, Rawlins, Kemmerer and Pinedale Field Offices. The High Desert District includes significant natural resources and
land
management issues that have national and regional impact. Examples of resources managed include the world's largest deposit of trona and the number two ranked gas field in the nation. The District is responsible for integrating public land uses with emerging green energy sources such as wind. The District helps manage oil and gas development, the transport of energy, management and protection of wild horses, and land conservation.
