JOB PURPOSE: This position participates in the engineering design and/or execution of one or more projects.
SCOPE: This position receives guidance and direction; discretion and independent judgement is required. Performs basic engineering calculations, investigations and assigned tasks for subsets of large projects or complete small projects.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Typically reports to an Engineering Manager or Director. Position has no direct reports.
PRINCIPAL
Responsibilities:
Appropriately applies engineering principles and concepts to area of specialization.
Implements engineering techniques and solutions to solve difficult problems.
Participates in defining engineering approaches and in planning and prioritizing work.
Ensures successful completion of assigned project phases within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
Actively participates in project team meetings and project decisions.
Collaborates with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems.
May work with field teams on installations, issue identification, analysis and/or repairs.
Performs engineering calculations.
Assists in the preparation of appropriate documentation, reports and summaries to communicate project progress or results.
Reviews and checks project specific drawings and data sheets to ensure compliance with design criteria and
standards.
Interfaces with internal, and possibly external, customers
Quickly learns and applies new concepts, skills and knowledge to assigned tasks.
Learns and applies global engineering work processes.
Contributes to organization''s success through individual and/or team actions.
Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems and provide recommendations

Qualifications:
BS in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering required
Prior oilfield work experience (co-op, internship, direct) strongly preferred
Practical knowledge of oil field operations strongly preferred.
Knowledge of and experience in design of hydraulic fracturing jobs including experience with appropriate commercial software programs (e.g. FracPro or equivalent) strongly preferred. Knowledge of fluid selection considerations beneficial.
Knowledge of and experience in secondary and tertiary oil recovery operations beneficial
Knowledge of and experience in use of nitrogen and carbon dioxide in oil field operations beneficial
Willingness to travel 50% minimum and flexible work scheduling required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
